Function

Specific fixation of the shoulder joint with free function and correction of the subluxation and medial rotation.

Indications

Paralysis and painful restriction of motion in shoulder and arm muscles after:

_ Hemiplegia

_ Plexus injuries

_ Skull/brain trauma

_ Peripheral nerve damage

Contra- indications

Generally speaking you should see the doctor treating you about the indication and method of wearing an orthopaedic aid and if you have the following conditions:

_ Allergic, inflammatory or lesion-specific skin alterations (e.g. swelling, reddening) of the body areas being treated. Utilisation requires a prior check-up by your doctor, therapist

or technician for:

_ Impaired circulation or lymphatic soft tissue swelling.

_ Neurogenically-specific organoleptic and skin trophic disor ders in the body area being treated (sensory disorders with and without skin damage).

So far no consequential incompatibilities or allergic reactions have been reported.

Side-effects

To date, there have been no reports of serious general side effects with proper use and fitting.

Local pressure symptoms and impaired circulation can be prevented with sufficient certainty on an individual basis if allowance is made for any contraindications and with non-restrictive, consistently shaped shaped body fitting.

Fitting

1 _ Apply shoulder element A and close the chest strap and the Velcro strap on the upper arm.

2 _ You can adjust all Velcro straps so that the shoulder element fits perfectly.

3 _ Arm element B must be applied so that the circular opening lies over the tip of the elbow. The lifting strap C should face in the direction of the shoulder joint.

The closures must not be pulled too tight, as otherwise circulation might be inhibited. It is essential that this is avoided!

4 _ Finally, the lifting strap C is connected to the shoulder element closures of the same colour.

Important: This dynamic strap must be placed under slight tension. To do this, adjust both straps symmetrically to the required length.

The orthesis should only be worn when the wearer is awake, as there is a risk of pressure sores forming during sleep.

TIP: Wear the NEURO-LUX® II over a skin-tight T-shirt or vest. The arm element should be worn directly against the skin.

Important

The product is to be used by one patient only. Improper modifications to the product and/or improper use of the product referred to above exempt the manufacturer from product liability.

You ought to discuss potential reciprocal health risks or other disadvantages with specific treatments that may arise in con nection with the use of the product with the doctor treating you.

For the product to work effectively over a long period, it must not be worn in conjunction with fatty or acidic remedies, oint ments or lotions.

Care

We recommend that you wash NEURO-LUX® II gently in lukewarm water using liquid detergent and air-dry it. Do not place it on radiators.
